When an Aamir Khan starrer hits the big screen, the obvious expectations are that it will shatter maximum possible records. Already, the actor has delivered 2 super-hits, PK and 3 Idiots, which have broken many records; now people have their eyes on “Dangal”.
Aamir Khan fans expect the movie to be the highest grosser of 2016; as of now this record belongs to “Sultan”, let’s see if it is successful.
Yesterday, we had reported Dangal has beaten Sultan with regards to the satellite rights; while the former struck a deal of Rs 75 crores, the Salman Khan starrer had secured Rs 55 crores. Now, once again “Dangal” has started its journey towards breaking some records of “Sultan” and it is already successful in one. Yes, the movie has broken a BIG record of Sultan even before release and it is related to advance bookings.
Dangal has got the highest advance booking sales on “BookMyShow”, a popular movie booking site and it is around 40 percent more as compared to other blockbusters of this year.
According to BookMyShow
“Dangal has witnessed approximately 40% more advance bookings on BookMyShow for the opening week as compared with other blockbusters that entertained movie buffs in 2016. And to top it all, BookMyShow has already hit its fastest 1 million ticket milestone for an individual movie with Dangal while already clocking sales over Rs 20 crore.”
Ashish Saksena from BookMyShow stated that that they expected Dangal to do quite well; but such type of traction was completely unexpected. Not only did Dangal receive positive reviews, but it also shattered the demonetization effect. He further added
“Users are also benefiting in huge numbers from the ongoing offers of the BookMyShow Blockbuster Week, indeed making us the most loved movie ticketing platform. We also expect to contribute significantly to the overall opening weekend collection of Dangal.”
As of now, it was Sultan that was holding this record, but Dangal ha successfully shattered it. Let us wait and watch as to how many more records the movie breaks.
