The match was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi, and the Delhi crowd supported him more as he led the IPL team Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023. This was certainly the last match of David Warner in the Australian jersey at Arun Jaitley Stadium and he gave the Delhi crowd a memory to cherish as he scored 104 runs for which he played 93 deliveries and his innings included 11 fours & 3 sixes. The Australian team won the toss and decided to bat first, though they lost their opener Mitchell Marsh (9 runs) quite early yet David Warner along with Steve Smith (71 runs, 68 balls, 9 fours & 1 six) stabilised the innings and stitched a partnership of 132 runs.

After Steve Smith got out, David Warner produced a partnership of 84 runs with Marnus Labuschagne (62 runs, 47 balls, 7 fours & 2 sixes) and when David Warner got dismissed in the 40th over, Australia’s score was 265/5. David Warner walked with bat high in the air and the Delhi crowd gave him a standing ovation for his superb innings.

Glenn Maxwell played a smashing knock of 106 runs as he scored the fastest century (40 balls) of the ODI World Cup and his innings included 9 fours & 8 sixes. Australia posted a huge total of 399/8 in their 50 overs. Netherlands had a very bad day as they got all out for just 90 runs and the Aussies won the match by 309 runs.

David Warner may not come back in the Australian jersey but we will certainly see him in the IPL.
