This Friday saw the release of two great films, representing two completely different genres. Thriller Badla and MCU’s Captain Marvel both hit the theaters in India on the same day.
With Badla, we witnessed the return of the popular trio, Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Sujoy Ghosh. They are back again to the silver screen, with the official remake of the Spanish hit The Invisible Guest (2016), produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
Whereas, MCU’s first female superhero flick, Captain Marvel is a must watch. It is visually impressive and entertaining. This is MCU’s first film helmed by a female protagonist. The stakes are definitely high as DU has already done wonders with their film Wonder Women.
Let’s just say these two movies were both worth the wait. The films though coming from very different distinctive genres are backed by great visual powers and you’d expect both of these to do marvels in their separate box office collections.
MCU’s Marvel smashed a lot of box office records on the first day itself by earning a cross box office collection of 15.18 crores. It managed to cross the 10 crore mark on day 1.
It has comparatively been a slower weekend for Badla so far. On the day, the film managed to earn 5.04 crores which is less considering the fact that Amitabh Bachchan stars in it.
However, this is better business than Pink, which made roughly 3 crores on its opening day back in 2016. Pink also starred Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan.
