The Delhi government has started a noble initiative by providing the facility of home-delivery of 40 services in the capital city. These services include water connection documents, marriage certificate, caste certificates, etc.

AAP announced the same on the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “We heard of pizza being home-delivered but never thought that the government will come at home with just one call. This is a major revolution and history is being created in real sense today.”

Citizens just need to dial 1076 for placing a request regarding any service like ID cards, documents or certificates. They will be told about the necessary documents and will have the ease of giving a time when these documents can be collected by a “Mobile Sahayak” at their doorstep only. To avail these services, one will need to pay Rs 50 as extra fee.

15. Enrolment as Civil Defence Volunteer

16. Delhi Family Benefit Scheme

39. Reimbursement of Tuition fees for students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/ Minority Category

40. Scholarship/ Merit Scholarship to SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students for the school (for Class Ito XII) and for OBC (Class VI to XII)

This is one-of-its-kind initiative not just in India but across the world and its aim is to make the lives of common people easy.

Manish Sisodia tweeted, “The objective of Delhi Govt’s political will is to ease the life of the common citizen. CM @ArvindKejriwal launched Doorstep Delivery of Govt Services today, which is the 1st of its kind initiative, across the globe! This marks a new era of Governance.”

Delhi CM tweeted, “We have to change the way we r being governed. The entire administration and governance needs complete overhaul. It needs to become citizen centric.”

In another tweet, he wrote, “I hope we will be able to overcome all hurdles and soon home delivery of ration will also become a reality.”

Arvind Kejriwal has requested media for highlighting issues that come up while implementing this scheme so that they can be solved by the govt within 10-15 days.

If a person wants a driving licence, he/she will have to call and give details. A Mobile Sahayak will be assigned who will visit the applicant for collecting necessary documents and information. For the purpose of security, the applicant’s no. will not be shared with the Sahayak; however, the applicant will need to visit Motor Licensing Office once for driving test.

VFS Global, a private firm, has been enlisted by AAP for providing these services.
