Directed by Rohit Dhawan, Dishoom starring John Abraham, Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles released on July 29, 2016 and as expected, the movie could successfully attract audience to theaters on account of good promotion strategies and superb trailer. However, unfortunately it could not get that praise and admiration as expected. Nevertheless, it did not seem to have much effect on its opening day collections.
Talking about the first day collections of Dishoom, it made a whopping earning of ₹ 11.05 crore in domestic market which is no doubt quite good.

What grabbed the attention of viewers the most in the movie is the cameo of Akshay Kumar and it won’t be wrong to say that despite a very small role, he won it, as audience applauded Akshay more than lead actors of the flick.
Well, if we talk about the highest first day collections of movies released in the year 2016, Salman Khan’s Sultan tops the list with a whopping earning of ₹ 36.54 crore, whereas SRK’s Fan is on the second position with a collection of ₹ 19.20 crore.
Take a look at the highest Day 1 collections of Bollywood films released in 2016:
1. Sultan – ₹ 36.54 crore
2. Fan – ₹ 19.20 crore
3. Housefull 3 – ₹ 15.21 crore
4. Airlift – ₹ 12.35 crore
5. Baaghi – ₹ 11.94 crore
6. Dishoom – ₹ 11.05 crore
