The ongoing controversy surrounding Govinda, his wife Sunita Ahuja and alleged affair rumours has now drawn support from actress Divya Khosla. After Sunita recently shared a video seeking support from Gen Z and the media, Divya wrote a detailed note on Instagram, which Sunita later reshared on her own Instagram account.
In her note, Divya Khosla said that the situation had been bothering her for some time and she felt the need to speak about it. She discussed how women over generations worked to become independent, receive education and build their own identities instead of depending entirely on men.
Divya said that women in earlier generations made major sacrifices so their daughters could have better and more independent lives. She also expressed concern that recent events being discussed openly on social media could send the wrong message to the younger generation and make society move backwards.
Divya Khosla also spoke about Govinda, describing him as a senior and respected actor whom she has admired. Addressing Sunita Ahuja, she said that she had remained loyal to Govinda, raised their children and sacrificed the opportunity to build a career of her own.
According to Divya, Sunita played an important role behind Govinda’s success by taking care of the family and children while he focused on his professional life. She questioned what more a woman could be expected to do after giving so much to her family and marriage.
Divya Khosla also referred to Sunita Ahuja’s recent appeal for support. She said that while people generally avoid getting involved in someone else’s personal matters, the situation becomes different when private issues are repeatedly brought into the public eye.
She questioned the repeated public appearances of Govinda with his alleged girlfriend, Komal Rani Swarnkar, and said that such displays were uncomfortable to watch. Divya also raised concerns about what message such incidents could send to the future generation, particularly if relationships outside marriage are openly displayed or normalised.
Divya Khosla further criticised the alleged public remarks and actions surrounding Sunita. She objected to the alleged use of religious places to showcase a relationship and strongly condemned the reported attempt to portray Sunita as a m*rd*rer, calling it an extremely low step.
In the final part of her message, Divya expressed sympathy for Sunita Ahuja, who is 58 years old. She said that at this stage of life, Sunita deserves companionship, care and support from her husband after spending so many years dedicated to her family.
Divya questioned the sacrifices Sunita made throughout her marriage if she now has to struggle for basic needs and security as a wife. She ended her message by expressing her support for Sunita and appealing to Govinda to reconsider his actions.
