According to reports, an uncomfortable moment involving Dimple Kapadia took place during the shooting of the film Prem Dharam. The scene reportedly required Vinod Khanna to hug and kiss Dimple as part of the script. But even after director Mahesh Bhatt called “cut”, the actor allegedly continued the intimate moment for longer than expected.
The situation reportedly left the set stunned. Reports claim that Mahesh Bhatt and several crew members quickly stepped in after noticing that the scene had not stopped despite the shot being completed. The atmosphere on set reportedly became tense soon after the incident.
Dimple Kapadia was said to be deeply uncomfortable and upset following the episode. According to reports from that time, the actress immediately left the set and locked herself inside her make-up room. She reportedly avoided interacting with the crew for some time after the incident.
Later, Mahesh Bhatt allegedly had a private conversation with Vinod Khanna regarding the matter. Reports suggest that the filmmaker asked the actor to explain the situation and apologise to Dimple Kapadia.
The incident happened during the making of Prem Dharam, which also starred veteran actress Hema Malini in an important role. Although the film itself did not become a major blockbuster, stories from its production continued to remain part of Bollywood discussions for years.
The controversy reportedly took place after Vinod Khanna returned to films following his spiritual break associated with Osho, during which he had stayed away from Bollywood for several years before making his comeback.
