English Cricketer Lost His Artificial Leg In The Middle Of A Game, Still Saved A Boundary

Physical disabilities will never become a hindrance if you have that confidence and dedication. Yes, if you have set your goal and want to achieve it by hook or crook, nothing can stop you; giving 100 percent is what is needed and rest happens automatically.

Something similar happened with cricketer Liam Thomas, during the England Physical Disabilities’ Twenty20 match against Pakistan on 24th of October, which was being played in Dubai. It was the final tournament and Thomas knew that he had to give his best shot, keeping aside his weaknesses.

Yes, even his prosthetic leg didn’t stop him from displaying a wonderful piece of fielding. What happened was that the Pakistani batsman smashed a shot and to prevent the ball from reaching the boundary, he ran so fast that he inadvertently lost his prosthetic leg. It literally went flying, and this was a sight which no one can forget.

Thomas says “It just happened, really. I was sprinting for the ball, put my hand out, hit the deck hard and the next thing I know I stood up and had no leg,”

He further adds “I didn’t know whether to grab the leg or get the ball in. I decided to go for the ball.”. Thomas feels that the heat of Dubai was too intense and this was the reason why the leg fell loose.

He definitely deserves a salute, isn’t it? He was so focused on the ball that he didn’t even realize that he had lost his artificial leg. This is called sheer DEDICATION!

Unfortunately England couldn’t win the match, but this moment will always be remembered. Want to watch the video? Here it is…

Now, this was truly inspirational, isn’t it? His disability didn’t come in his way of his excellent fielding.

Hats off to you Thomas…
