Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is currently out of action as he suffered a back injury during the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in Sydney last month.
After bowling just one over post-lunch on the second day, he experienced back spasms and left the field for medical evaluation. Subsequent assessments revealed a stress-related injury, leading to his withdrawal from the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that Jasprit Bumrah would require a period of rest and rehabilitation to ensure full recovery. This is a significant setback for the Indian team, as Bumrah has been a pivotal figure in their bowling attack. His absence from the Champions Trophy poses a challenge for India’s campaign, underscoring the importance of managing player workloads and addressing injury concerns promptly.
As of now, two images of Jasprit Bumrah lying in a hospital bed have been circulating on social media and the online user claims that the Indian star pacer is in serious health condition.
However, no such images are posted by the official Instagram accounts of the cricketer or his loved ones and upon close examination, it is found that the viral images are AI generated as certain elements, such as the blurred background, indicate AI generation rather than an actual photograph.
Here are other few points to prove that the image is AI generated:
Smooth and Unrealistic Skin Texture – AI-generated images often have overly smooth skin without natural imperfections, which can make them appear unnatural.
Facial Features and Expression – While the face in the image resembles Jasprit Bumrah, AI-generated faces sometimes have slight asymmetries or unnatural alignments.
Background Details – The hospital setting looks slightly artificial, with elements that may appear too clean or lack natural depth.
Most importantly, few hours back, Jasprit Bumrah posted a photo in which he is seen in gym and the caption of the photo is, “Rebuilding”
This serves as a reminder to verify information before sharing, as AI-generated content can often be mistaken for real-life events. There are some apps which can be used for the purpose of checking a photo’s authenticity so it is better to use them rather than believing anything which you see on the Internet or social media.
Be careful everyone.
