The government and police have been reminding people to use social media cautiously again and again. They have also warned individuals to be very careful while meeting someone whom they know through social media sites. Still we get to see such incidents being repeated wherein people have no option but to regret later.
One such incident has recently taken place in Delhi in which a 25-yr old lady claims to have been raped by a Facebook friend who promised her of a job. As per PTI, the accused assured the victim of getting a job in Saket area of South Delhi.
The lady who lives in Southeast Delhi stated that on Monday evening, she was invited at a five-star hotel at Select City Mall on Press Enclave Road by the accused.
According to a report published in TOI, the lady got acquainted with the accused named Sonu Singh on Facebook and as she was looking for a job in haste; the accused offered her help and called the lady to meet him.
She was given cold drink after lunch; however, after drinking it, she started feeling shaky, as if some drug was added to the drink. The accused took her to his car on the pretext of dropping her home but in reality, he raped her there in the parking lot inside the car.
The victim will soon be presented in front of the magistrate for giving her statement while the police has started hunting for the accused. They are also checking the CCTV footage of the mall for this purpose.
