Floodlight Tower Catches Fire In PSL 2023 Coz Of Opening Ceremony Mishap, Visuals Are Scary

The opening match of the Pakistan Super League 2023 which was played between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans was one of the most exciting and thrilling contests in the history of the PSL as decision of the match came on the last ball with Lahore Qalandars winning the game by just 1 run.

However, start of the league was a little scary as one of the floodlights caught fire because of the firecrackers which were used during the PSL’s opening ceremony. The match was delayed by 30 minutes because of the mishap but luckily nothing serious happened as the fire brigade reached on time and controlled the situation.

As far as the match is concerned, the toss was won by Multan Sultans and it decided to put Lahore Qalandars to bat first. Batting first, Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars posted a total of 175/6 in its 20 overs with the help of Fakhar Zaman’s knock of 66 runs and he was supported well by Mirza Tahir Baig who made a contribution of 32 runs.

In response, Multan Sultans had a great start as skipper Mohammad Rizwan (75 runs) and Shan Masood (35 runs) produced a partnership of 100 runs in around 12 overs but the team fumbled after their dismissals and lost the match by 1 run.

Good thing is that no one got injured due to the mishap.
