The Indian cricketers will certainly like to forget the tour of Sri Lanka as soon as possible as they lost the 3-match ODI series by 2-0 and it won’t be wrong to say that Rohit Sharma-led team failed in all the segments whether it is batting, bowling or fielding.
The Sri Lanka tour was the first assignment for the new head coach Gautam Gambhir and it won’t be wrong to say that his tenure started with a bang as the Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav whitewashed the 3-match T20I series but tables turned upside down in the ODI series.
What was more surprising was the fact that Suryakumar Yadav-led team was a less experienced squad but as far as the ODI team is concerned, it was a star-studded side with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul making a comeback.
The Indian batting seemed completely toothless in front of the Sri Lankan bowling especially spin bowling attack in the ODI series and this has left many former cricketers in a state of shock. This is the first time in the last 27 years that the Indian team has been defeated by Sri Lanka in a bilateral series and this gave a chance to online users to troll Gautam Gambhir.

Now India will play the next ODI series in February 2025, it will be against England and both the teams will play a 3-match ODI series.
