Virat Kohli, the Indian cricketer is known not just for his batting skills but also for his fitness and fielding skills and during the match against Rajasthan Royals, he once again displayed why he is termed as one of the best fielders of the world.
Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the match to RR by 4 wickets; the match was played yesterday at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and Virat Kohli did play an innings of 33 runs but that was not enough considering the fact that it was a knock-out match. However, Virat is an energetic person and he gives his 100 percent in all the segments of the game and at one point of time, he brought RCB back in the match by breaking the partnership of Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel.
On the bowling of Cameron Green, Riyan Parag played a shot towards deep square where Virat Kohli was fielding, Riyan forced Dhruv to take a second run but Virat Kohli’s magnificent throw towards the non-striker ensured that Dhruv got run out.
The former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar who is doing commentary in the IPL2024 was full of praises for Virat Kohli. Gavaskar said that if there is hesitation, the second run should not be taken. He said that the players should assess whether there is a second run and also see who the fielder is, run if there is another fielder. He termed the throw as magnificent and praised Virat Kohli for bringing RCB back in the game.

As far as the match is concerned, the toss was won by RR and they chose to bowl first. Though RCB got a steady start and there were some useful contributions by Virat Kohli (33 runs), Cameron Green (27 runs), Rajat Patidar (34 runs) and Mahipal Lomror (32 runs), no batter was not able to play a big innings because of which RCB put up a score of 172/8 in their stipulated 20 overs.
RR managed to chase the target successfully in 19 overs and the highest scorer for RR was Yashasvi Jaiswal who scored 45 runs. Riyan Parag also played an important innings of 36 runs and Ravichandran Ashwin was adjudged as the Player of the Match as he took 2 wickets in his 4 overs and gave only 19 runs.
Now, RR and Sunrisers Hyderabad will face each other on 24 May and the winner of this match will face KKR in the IPL 2024 final which will be played on 26 May.
