The Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell is one of the prolific cricketers of the present times and he is quite popular among the Indian cricket fans because of two reasons – first reason is his performances in the IPL and second is that he is married to an Australian who is of the Indian origin.
Recently, Glenn Maxwell who will be leading Melbourne Stars in the upcoming Big Bash League talked about the IPL and said that it will be the last tournament that he will play as he will keep playing the IPL until he can’t walk anymore. Presently, Glenn Maxwell is a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore but earlier he has represented Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) and Delhi Capitals.
Glenn Maxwell states that the IPL has helped a lot in his career because playing with other international players, meeting people and playing under good coaches has improved his game to a great extent. He further adds that for two months, he gets the time to play, talk and watch other games with AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli which makes the IPL the greatest learning experience that any cricketer can crave for.
Currently 10 Australian cricketers are a part of the IPL and the number is set to increase with Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc making a comeback in the IPL 2024. Glenn Maxwell hopes that many other Aussie cricketers also get to play the tournament as the conditions are quite similar to West Indies, a little drier and it will spin as well.
The next T20 World Cup will be hosted by West Indies and USA in a joint manner and the IPL 2024 will certainly help the players in preparing for the big event.
