After years of his anticipated return, and weeks of hype and build-up, former WCW and WWE World Champion Bill Goldberg finally squared off against the ‘Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Goldberg slayed the beast in a dominating fashion, Bill Goldberg shocked the world by defeating Lesnar in less than 2 minutes.
It was a fantasy warfare, no one would have imagined in their wild dreams that the man who conquered the undefeated streak of The Undertaker, the man who decimated John Cena at SummeSlam, the man who was unstoppable would lose against a man who hasn’t wrestled a match in 12 years. The odds were against Goldberg, people thought Brock would take Goldberg to the Supplex City and would score a easy victory.
Goldberg made his return on Raw last month, a 12 years long return. The reception he received was heart-warming, wrestling fans genuinely missed the WCW icon. Even the Toronto crowd was fully behind Goldberg at Survivor Series.
Goldberg has been away from the wrestling for a long time, but there’s no denying that he still has the same crowd-pulling star power. His dominating victory over Brock Lesnar proves that WWE is very interested in working with him again.
According to the sources of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Bill Goldberg has recently signed a deal with the company to appear in the 2017 Royal Rumble match. No wonder why WWE made him look so strong in the match.
Royal Rumble PPV will be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio TX, on January 29, 2017.
Right now there is no word on whether WWE has plans for Goldberg to wrestle at WrestleMania, some rumored possible names for his opponents are The Undertaker, John Cena. But his victory over Brock Lesnar clearly indicates that WWE is more than interested to feature Bill in their programming.
