Kings XI Punjab might soon be led by a new coach! Yes, there are reports that for the upcoming season, Sanjay Bangar, the present head will be replaced by the current mentor and former opener of the team, Sehwag.
If reports are to be believed, Kings XI Punjab will switch fortunes as Sehwag will be hired as their coach. Last two seasons, the franchise was led by Sanjay Bangar, but according to TOI, Sehwag will be appointed now.
Bangar left the Punjab team on Friday and it is said that he submitted his resignation last month, due to argument with Preity Zinta, the team’s owner.
Sanjay said
“I submitted my resignation in the last week of November. They [the franchise] came back to me around the second week of December.”
He further said
“I was totally engrossed in the [England] series and that is the reason why I sort of waited till the end of the series.”
In the previous season, Sehwag was the team’s mentor and if reports turn out to be true, he will stick to full-fledged coaching for IPL’s 2017 edition.
