Google Gave Mumbaikars An Awesome Gift Which They Just Can’t Refuse!

Mumbai CST has become the first station to receive free Wi-Fi when the first phase of the project was launched by the Google on Friday. Google targets to provide free Wi-Fi to 400 railway stations in the first phase of the project.

The free Wi-Fi facility was used by the commuters and shopkeepers of Mumbai Central Train Station and the speed was better than what we use at our homes.

Have a look at the speed test posted by an online user:

A commuter Divya Patel who was waiting for the train to Ahmedabad has to say this about such a wonderful start, “If my train is leaving, and I need to search, don’t know where to go, then immediately I will get the answer. This is very good and good for everyone.”

Even with 6 million Internet users adding every month, free Wi-Fi is rare in India and getting free Wi-Fi on the railway station will definitely bring smile on the faces of passengers.

The technology multinationals are keeping an eye on the growing Indian market and want to make their business base in India.

Google has partnered with Indian Railways and RailTel, the communications infrastructure provider for this project. This is what Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, said last month in New Delhi, “Most of India is still not online. We want to bring access to as many people as possible.”
