Harbhajan Singh Receives Flak For His S*xist Comment On Anushka & Athiya During WC Final - RVCJ Media

While the Indian cricket lovers are soaked in sorrow and grief as they were very hopeful of seeing India win the World Cup, there is a section of online users who are slamming the former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh for the sexist remarks that he made for Bollywood actresses Anushka Sharma and Athiya Shetty.

Both Anushka and Athiya are married to Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, respectively and they were also present in the stadium for cheering their husbands and the Indian team. During the commentary, Harbhajan Singh was seen discussing with the other commentators what they both (Anushka and Athiya) must be discussing, Harbhajan was heard saying that they could be discussing about the movies as they both must not be knowing much about cricket.

This sexist remark didn’t go well with many and they slammed Bhajji left and right on X:

As far as the match is concerned, the Indian cricket team was put to bat first after the Aussies won the toss. India started decently but they lost the momentum soon and the whole team was all out for 240 runs, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored half-centuries and Rohit Sharma also made a useful contribution of 47 runs.

The Aussies lost three wickets early on but Travis Head (137 runs) and Marnus Labuschagne (58* runs) not only stabilized the inning but they also kept the scoreboard ticking at a brisk pace and ensured that their team lifted their sixth World Cup trophy.

While Travis Head was adjudged as the Player of the Match, Virat Kohli was adjudged as the Player of the Tournament.

What is your take on this matter? Do you think Harbhajan should apologise?
