Steve Smith and Warner were banned for 12 months and Bancroft was banned for 9 months.

The ban on the players has not gone down well with many people around the world. They feel that the punishment required to be lesser and former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh also feels the same.

As the news broke out all over, Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter and expressed his disappointment. He tweeted-

A year ban for ball tempering ?? That’s a joke. What kind of crime they have done ?Taking the game away from someone for a year is absolutely nonsense.understand if ban was for 1 test series or 2 but this is ridiculous.hope @CricketAus reduce th ban @stevesmith49 @davidwarner31

Now, this tweet of Harbhajan Singh is totally opposite to what he said a few days back.

When Smith, Warner and Bancroft admitted of being involved in ball tampering, ICC charged Smith with 100% match fees and suspended him for 1 test match. On the other hand, Bancroft got 75% match fees fine and 3 demerit points.

Harbhajan Singh had then tweeted that the punishment is too light. He had alleged ICC for being unfair and tweeted-

wow @ICC wow. Great treatment nd FairPlay. No ban for Bancroft with all the evidences whereas 6 of us were banned for excessive appealing in South Africa 2001 without any evidence and Remember Sydney 2008? Not found guilty and banned for 3 matches.different people different rules

These changing statements of Harbhajan have left the people on Twitter confused. Take a look at some of the reactions-
