Ektaa Kapoor, one of the most successful television producers of India, has always been known for her fearless approach to storytelling and her ability to address real social issues through her shows. From redefining family dramas to exploring sensitive topics like relationships and body image, she has consistently sparked conversations beyond entertainment.

Some time back, she once again found herself at the center of a debate after her video went viral. The clip in which Ektaa spoke about weight gain and mentioned Ozempic was widely interpreted as a reference to actor Ram Kapoor.

However, Ektaa has now clarified that the video was never about him. Speaking at an event, she explained that her post was personal and had nothing to do with any individual. She pointed out that the timing of her post coincided with the launch of her Bade Achhe Lagte Hain promo, which dealt with themes like body shaming, self-doubt and self-confidence.

Ektaa Kapoor admitted she was surprised when people linked her remarks to Ram Kapoor. She stressed that he had no connection to the matter and even noted that he had undergone a remarkable transformation, shedding weight in recent years. She compared the misunderstanding to casually talking about her hair and then being accused of calling someone bald.

The confusion began earlier this year when Ektaa shared a video on social media, joking about her own weight. In it, she wondered whether she should try dieting, medication or simply accept herself the way she was. Ending with the line “hum bade hi acche lagte hain”; she also used “Ozempic ho jaye” as a playful caption. The reference to her iconic show title led many to assume she was indirectly targeting Ram Kapoor.

The speculation intensified when Ram Kapoor’s wife Gautami Kapoor posted a video. With a light sarcastic tone, she echoed similar lines about diets and medication but concluded by saying exercise was enough for her. Taking it further, she quipped, “kyunki humein bade nahi, chhote hi acche lagte hain,” a twist on the show’s title.

Sharing her video, Gautami emphasised that everyone should be free to do what makes them feel healthy and happy. She reminded followers that at the end of the day, peace and well-being matter more than outside opinions.
