MS Dhoni gave a big surprise to everyone by doing a lap of honour at the Chepauk stadium, the home ground of Chennai Super Kings, on 14 May 2023 after the match which was played against Kolkata Knight Riders and with this, MSD dropped a big hint regarding his future in the IPL.

A huge number of spectators stayed back in the stadium for showering love on their favourite cricketer who has been leading CSK since the inaugural edition of IPL which took place in 2008. MS Dhoni threw many CSK jerseys towards the crowd and he was also carrying a racquet with which he was hitting balls in the crowd. MSD also met the police officials, got clicked with them and gave them autograph too.

The former skipper of the England cricket team, Kevin Pietersen talked about the beautiful scenes from the lap of honour and also about how inspiring MS Dhoni is.

KP says that MSD is so inspiring that every player wants to be the best version of himself when he plays for the team which is being led by Dhoni. As per Kevin Pietersen, Dhoni cares so much about his players that every player starts feeling it and it resonates.

Talking about the spectators, KP says that look at those who have stayed back for seeing him, they are trying to touch him because of the wonderful person that MSD is and he is also a great human being off-the cricket field. KP says that Dhoni’s gesture is just remarkable and the scenes are not just emotional but incredible as well.

Kevin Pietersen also recalled the time when he played with MS Dhoni for Rising Pune Supergiants. KP stated that when CSK was suspended for 2 years, he and MSD played for RPS but when the opportunity came to return to Chennai, Dhoni got emotional as it was the only place where he wanted to be, he loves the ground, public and the franchise a lot.
