MS Dhoni, the former Indian cricketer and the current skipper of Chennai Super Kings may have taken retirement from all forms of cricket in 2020 but he is still one of the highest paid sportspersons of the country. The Captain Cool not only led his team in the 11th final but also managed to win the IPL title for the fifth time as CSK defeated Gujarat Titans in the rain-affected final of the IPL 2023 which was played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 29th May 2023.
As per the reports, MS Dhoni’s net worth is around Rs. 1000 crore and though he doesn’t play international cricket anymore, he still earns a good amount because of the IPL, investments and endorsements. If you remember, ahead of the IPL 2022 auctions, CSK retained MS Dhoni for a whopping amount of Rs. 12 crore and this means that Mahi is paid around Rs. 86 lakhs as match fee per match. As per an estimate, Thala has earned a huge amount of around Rs. 175 crore from the IPL only since 2008, the year in which the league got inaugurated.
Other than this, Dhoni has made some good investments as well and he also has a good number of endorsements as he is still one of the most popular cricketers of the country.
As far as Dhoni’s IPL career is concerned, in the post-match presentation of the final, MS Dhoni stated that it is the ideal situation for him to say thank you and walk away but the amount of love and affection that he has got everywhere, he feels that he should try to come back and play one more season at least for the fans who have supported him so much.
MS Dhoni is certainly an inspiration, what do you say?
