Rani Mukerji’s film Hichki finally releases today. The film with its trailer and promotions have set decent expectations.
Rani Mukerji’s last film Mardaani had released back in 2014 and it was a Box Office Hit. Now after 4 years, she comes back with a film and here’s how it is.
Story
Hichki is based on a character named Naina Mathur who suffers from a medical condition called Tourette Syndrome. Despite that, she stands positive and takes challenges that life throws on her.
Naina is looking for a job as a teacher and always gets rejected but after 5 years of searching, she finally lands a job. But the job is really challenging as she has to teach a set of underprivileged rebels.
Screenplay
The story and concept of the film is interesting but the screenplay has many hiccups. It is predictable many times which hardly makes you sit through the end of the film. Further, there is lack of entertainment factor to make the audience stick to the ongoings.
Performances
Rani Mukerji is brilliant as Naina Mathur and it’s a great experience watching her on big screen all over again. She simply takes the film on her shoulders. Rest of the performances are also fine.
Overall, Hichki has a good subject and great performances but it doesn’t serve anything else. You can watch it once for Rani Mukerji.
