The biopic is directed by James Erskine. Many people might question about a western director being on board, but after you have watched the movie, your perspective will surely change as it truly justifies the movie and is well presented considering it is not a feature film and is categorized as Documentary – Drama.

Script Analysis.

As shown in the trailer, the movie is compiled of video footage from his personal life and it gives us the opportunity to know the cricket God more closely.

The movie begins after showing the emotional moment when his daughter Sara is born and how scared he is to hold the little thing. It then takes off and brings Sachin’s childhood from being a naughty kid to be recognized as a God.

While Sachin’s story goes on it also shows glimpses of how cricket became the prime religion of India.

Sachin’s biopic is truly a great treat for the fans of Sachin as it shows the things Sachin loves, what his favorite song is and how he listens to a single song on loop for the whole day when he is under pressure. The movie also contains real clips of his marriage and how he celebrated his 99th century in the dressing room.

The Film doesn’t leave the Bollywood trait and shows the love life of Sachin which might not be appealing to everyone but fortunately it is kept short.

It is about the cricket God it captures the crucial moments and Sachin is seen speaking about his unsuccessful captaincy and the shame of fixing scandal.

Goosebumps moments are when International players like Ricky Ponting talk about how Sachin was one hell of an inspiration to them or when Wasim Akram shares his first impression of a teenage Sachin taking on the field. And keep your tissues handy as you will experience his retiring speech once again.

The movie takes you through the memory lanes and lets you relive the favorite moments of Sachin which is truly a treat to watch.

Acting/ Character Justification.

Well, I can’t imagine anyone other then Sachin playing his character and while judging the presentation it should be kept in mind the he is not an actor and has done well. The storyline is smoothly justified by the characters and James Erskine has done a great job here. The voiceovers by Harsha Bhogle, Boria Majumdar, Gideon Haigh, all three who have been sport reporters for decades work well for the film.

Music:

A R Rahman’s musical score is thumping and keeps the film’s pace up. The Sachin anthem is reverberating and one of the best moments is Rahman’s Vande Mataram being played to the iconic 2011 World Cup win post Dhoni’s winning sixer.

Our verdict : It is a must watch for Sachin fans and for every cricket fan and we give it a 4 star rating!
