Though Sharad worked in a Marathi movie in the year 2004, his filmy career took flight only after he was casted in “Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela” by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Since then, Sharad has appeared in a number of movies, not just Hindi but Marathi, Tamil and Telugu as well. He was also a part of SS Rajmouli’s “Baahubali” series as he gave his voice to the leading character starring Prabhas in the Hindi version.

In an interview, the actor opened up on his journey and struggles in the industry. He said that he also struggled like everyone else and there were days when he had no work, no money and had to live with more than 12-13 persons under one roof.

Sharad is of the opinion that a person understands the importance of success more when he has struggled in his life. He further says that his journey has been a great one as the audiences have not only accepted him but also appreciated his work and this is what an actor really wants. He also gives credit of his success to his luck as he believes in the concept of luck.

Sharad Kelkar also talked about his problem of stammering and added that other than struggle, the second problem that he faced was stammering but fortunately, he somehow managed to overcome it and gave his best.

Talking about his work as a voice-over artist, Kelkar says that he is not able to focus on it in a proper manner as he is more inclined towards acting. However, he also states that it is a great feeling when people recognize him with his voice; for example when he is in a plane with mask on and talking to a friend, people identify him after hearing his voice. Sharad expresses his happiness on this as he says that it simply feels amazing when your voice does not require face to be recognized.

On being asked about his future plans, Sharad Kelkar says that he likes to live in present and doesn’t make plans for future. He also states that in 2020, he was supposed to act in few movies which were scheduled to release in the later part of 2020 but everything went for a toss so there is no use of planning for future and it is better to live in present and enjoy each day.

Sharad Kelkar was recently seen in Akshay Kumar starrer “Laxmii” and his acting in the movie was praised by audiences as well as critics. Besides this, he has also been a part of popular web series The Family Man starring Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani in lead roles.
