Whenever a girl comes to know that she’s pregnant, her joy knows no bounds. It is the best moment of her life & it’s definitely worth cherishing. However, there are still some orthodox families in India who discriminate between girls and boys. Girl child is not favored in many parts of the country & we even come across incidents wherein she is aborted.
Such is the story of Reema which The Short Cuts has highlighted perfectly with its short film “Beti”. In this film, it is shown that the in-laws of Reema are eagerly waiting for a boy to be born in their family, but are disheartened when the opposite happens.
They even try to K*ll her when they see nowhere around. What her mother does along with the help of doctor is totally BRAVE.
