Indian Flyers Will Now Be Able To Use Internet And Make Phone Calls While On Board

What’s the worst part about travelling in a plane? The mere fact that you have to be totally disconnected from the world for a couple of hours. And let’s face it, it can get quite boring at times.

All you can do is stare blankly into space, and wait for the plane to land before you can switch on your phones or turn off the flight mode.

That won’t be a problem anymore. The Indian government has now implemented new and advanced technology which would enable you to use wifi and internet while on board.

According to the Indian Flight and Maritime Connectivity Rules 2018, domestic flyers in the Indian airspace will be allowed to make calls and even access the internet by using their mobile phones.

This is to increase in flight connectivity, and is certainly a move towards progress. The passengers will be allowed to use this once the plane has attained a height of 3000 metres. This will ensure that there is no interference whatsoever.

The charges for these services will be decided by the airlines and the service providers. The extent of the services offered will also have to be determined. But hey, we could do with just some connectivity. That isn’t asking for too much.
