While the Indian cricket team and its crazy fans are all set for the next round of the ongoing ICC world cup, the Indian skipper is in danger to get banned from playing in the semi-final. Yes! you read it right. Virat Kohli might be banned before semi-finals which can spill water on all our hope to see India win world cup 2019.
India has secured its place in the top four in the points list of world cup championship but Virat’s ban can shatter several million dreams. Kohli is on the verge of getting banned from the ICC for excessive appealing and arguing with the on-field umpires.
In the match against Bangladesh, Kohli argued with the on-field umpires in through the 12th over when India lost a review. Against Afghanistan also Virat appealed too much and was fined 25% of his match fees and got one demerit point for violating the ICC Code of Conduct.
He has received one demerit point to his disciplinary record. This is Virat’s second offense after the revised code is introduced in September 2016.
More than 4 demerit points within 24 months lead to suspension points and two suspension points might result in a ban from one Test or two ODIs or two T20Is, whichever comes next.
