Narayana Murthy thinks that Indian youth fails big time if we talk about talent and being trained. Blaming the faulty education system of India, Narayana Murthy says that 80% of youngsters are not properly trained for any job. He insists that there is a huge talent crunch in India.

Narayana Murthy was at the interactive session at the Asian College of Journalism in Chennai. Speaking at the event, he criticised the system that emphasises on rote learning rather than problem-solving which is seriously affecting entrepreneurship.

While Murthy stated that governments play a huge role in providing a better entrepreneurial atmosphere, he said the country lags in creating a positive startup atmosphere. He said-

“India is not at the forefront of the start-up culture. Compared with the US, UK, Germany or China, I don’t think we are anywhere close.”

During an interaction with students, Murthy suggested them to first decide in which sector they want to become an entrepreneur before thinking about entrepreneurship.

Further explaining it, he said that the next step is to join a company in that field and understand all about its sales, marketing and human resources and then give full dedication to the project.
