Priyanka Chopra, the Desi Girl of Bollywood, has once again become the target of trollers and haters. Well, this time it’s not because of her dress but for a photo of her family with the former Indian Prime Minister, Late Indira Gandhi.
On the 33rd death anniversary of Indira Gandhi, Priyanka took to Instagram and posted a photo featuring her aunt Neela Akhouri, her mother Madhu Chopra and her late grandparents, Madhu Jyotsna and Manhar Krishna Akhouri, with former Indian PM, Indira Gandhi. The caption of the pic is, “An amazing old photo my masi(aunt) @neelaakhouri sent over with her,my mother @madhumalati ,my late grand parents Madhu Jyotsna and Manhar krishna Akhouri with the late former PM of India Indira Gandhi. #just #Roots #history #family”
This was an old photo of her family with the only Indian female PM but it didn’t go well with trollers. Some of them got offended to the extreme and lashed out at the 35-yr “Quantico” star for glorifying the leader who is accused of mass murder. It was Indira Gandhi under whose regime Operation Blue Star took place which resulted in loss of many lives and she was the one who imposed emergency on the country.
Priyanka was also trolled for something which can be assumed to be a typo; initially she wrote the “I” of India in small while the “I” of Indira Gandhi was in caps and some online users slammed her for this mistake as well. However, later she corrected her mistake but the damage was done.
The photo has received more than 2 lakh likes along with many hate comments.
