Irrfan Khan was one of the most versatile and finest stars of all times and his sudden departure is a big blow, not just for the acting world but for his fans as well. The actor was not well for a long time and on April 29, he took his last breath in the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
It was a big shock for everyone as he was just 53 years old and people wanted to see him more on the big screen. It is true that everyone knew he was ill as Irrfan kept on sharing updates related to his personal life with his fans but everybody was hopeful that he would be fine.
Irrfan was married to writer Sutapa Sikdar whom he knew from the days of National School of Drama and they both got blessed with two kids – Babil and Ayan. Sutapa took to social media platform Facebok and paid tribute to her husband by posting an unseen photo of her with Irrfan with caption, “I have not lost I have gained in every which way…”

Irrfan was an international actor who not only worked in Bollywood but in British and American movies as well. He played a variety of roles in his life and justified each and every character that he played whether it was comedy, negative shade or lead role. Irrfan won many awards and recognitions in his life for his superb acting performances including the National Film Award for the Best Actor for “Paan Singh Tomar”. Irrfan was also awarded with the fourth highest civilian award of India – Padma Shri.
Irrfan’s last movie as an actor was “Angrezi Medium” which got released on the digital platform as all the cinema halls have been shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. In this film, he played the character of a father who is ready to do anything to fulfill the wish of her daughter who wants to study in London.
