‘It Was A Big Mistake Doing Dilwale,’ Says Kajol - RVCJ Media

On December 18, 2015 when Rohit Shetty’s “Dilwale” and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Bajirao Mastani” released on the same day, it was presumed that Dilwale will easily emerge as the winner between the two in terms of Box Office earnings and the reason being Dilwale had the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles, but what happened in reality was totally different from what was expected.

Dilwale was termed as a romantic comedy which also starred Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon while Bajirao Mastani was a periodical drama and the lead roles were played by Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.

Bajirao Mastani was a clear winner in the eyes of critics and if we talk about Box Office, it started slow but slowly it gathered speed and performed well. It is reported that many distributors of Dilwale have suffered losses which is unusual for King Khan’s movie and he himself has accepted that he is also disappointed.

As per the reports, the leading lady of the movie, Kajol is also not happy with her decision of working in Dilwale and got upset when at an event Shah Rukh cracked a joke on the movie. It was Shah rukh only who persuaded Kajol for Dilwale and now she feels that she has made a “big mistake” and she should have chosen Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Durga Rani Singh’ instead of Dilwale. Shah Rukh is presently busy in his two upcoming projects “Fan” and “Raees”.
