The India-Australia test series has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons, earlier the Aussie media was going harsh on team India alleging that some players breached the bio-bubble protocol and then they were targeting the Indian squad because of their refusal to go to Brisbane until the quarantine rules are eased. Now, one more controversy has erupted which is not only harmful for the reputation of cricket but will also hamper the sports loving image of Australia.

On the third day of the test match, Indian players Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were racially abused by the Australian crowd when they were fielding during the Australian innings. They both reported about it to the skipper Ajinkya Rahane who along with senior players talked to the on-field umpires. The Indian team management filed an official complaint with the Cricket Australia and the International Cricket Council has also taken notice of the incident and asked CA to submit a report on this matter.

However, the issue turned more controversial on the day 4 as Mohammed Siraj faced racial slurs while he was fielding on the fine leg boundary. He immediately informed his skipper about it and also pointed out those who were involved in such a disgusting activity. Six spectators were then taken away from the stadium by the New South Wales Police.

CA and ICC both have condemned the incident and stated that there is no place for such discriminatory behaviour in the game of cricket. CA has also made an official apology to the Indian team for the unpleasant incident. Twitter has been flooded with reactions over the matter and now the Indian skipper Virat Kohli has also gives his opinion on the controversial episode.

Having gone through many incidents of really pathetic things said on the boundary Iines, this is the absolute peak of rowdy behaviour. It’s sad to see this happen on the field.
