They are swift and handle calculators with utmost perfection. Just like we have typing contests, Japan hosts calculator contests, to judge who is using them most accurately and quickly.
There are many calculator clubs and kids are required to go there after school. On Saturdays and Sundays, they practice this skill for almost 7 hours.
