Sachin Tendulkar is one name that has got engraved in the hearts of many Indian cricket fans because he has played many match-winning knocks and has given numerous beautiful memories to cherish to Indian cricket fans.
It is not just the common public whose lives have been touched by Little Master but he has also made an impact on the cricketers who have played with him and Jasprit Bumrah is also one of them.
The Indian pacer is in a great form and has been bowling beautifully for Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL 2024 but it was Sachin Tendulkar’s advice which helped him in taking his first wicket in the IPL and that wicket was of Virat Kohli.
Jiocinema uploaded a video on social media in which Jasprit Bumrah talked about the advice that he got from the legend. In the IPL 2013, Mumbai Indians was playing a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru and bowling was a little difficult as it rained the previous day.
Jasprit Bumrah stated that he doesn’t believe that there is anything called perfect delivery because in his opinion, every ball is a wicket-taking delivery and anything can happen in the shortest format.
He further said that in that match, he was slipping, wasn’t able to get proper footing and he was facing problem in landing the ball at the right place as well and to make things worse, Virat Kohli had smashed him for hat-trick of fours. Bumrah said that he had a word about this with Sachin Tendulkar who was fielding at mid-off and told the legend that he is not used to bowl like this. In response, Sachin Tendulkar asked him not to worry and said that just one good delivery and his match would change completely.
The advise worked, Bumrah angled the ball into the right hander and got Virat Kohli lbw out as the ball hit his pads. Jasprit Bumrah concluded by saying that he thinks he needed that assurance at that time and he understood that if he does his things right, he will be able to do something.
