The rivalry between India and Pakistan on the cricket field is very old and cricket lovers from both the sides are also very passionate about the game. The tickets of India-Pakistan matches get sold very fast and the stadiums are never empty even if the matches are played at neutral venues.
However, India and Pakistan don’t play against each other much due to the tension prevailing between both the nations and for many years, they haven’t played any bilateral series, they only face each other in international tournaments.
The former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen came up with an idea which can be a win-win proposition not just for both the cricket boards, players and cricket fans but also for the broadcasters.
KP is of the opinion that India and Pakistan should play 3 T20 matches every year on a neutral venue in 5 days. Each side will have 15 members, the winning team will get $15M and as per KP, cities/countries and broadcasters will line up for that one week.
This is what Kevin Pietersen’s tweet read, “IDEA: India should play PAK every year in 3 T20s at a neutral venue over a 5 day period! 15 man squads, $15M purse for the winning team! Cities/countries/broadcasters would queue up to have that week every single year!”

The tickets for the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup 2021 match which was played on 24th Oct were also sold out very soon, within few minutes of the opening of booking so what KP said would be certainly true but we don’t think that the Indian government is in the mood to revive sports relations with Pakistan until and unless it stops promoting anti-India activities.
What do you think of this idea proposed by Kevin Pietersen?
