Rape cases have become very common these days; recent cases of a 22 year old woman who took an auto in Mohali to reach her PG accommodation, after attending her classes. She was raped by an auto driver and 2 men sitting in it; she was raped by 3 of them and was dumped in sector 53.
However, what was all the more saddening was a statement by Kirron Kher. On Wednesday she stated that the 22 year old should have been a bit careful, and that she shouldn’t have boarded the auto when she already saw 3 men sitting in it.
Her exact statement read,
“Bachi ki samajhdaari ko bhi main thoda sa kehna chahti hun… saari bachiyon ko.. ki already jab koi teen aadmi baithe hue hain uske andar… to aapko usme bethna nahi chadhna chaeye tha….I am saying this to protect the girls…..”

She said it in a good sense, but guess her words didn’t go down well with Twitter. Here’s how she got slammed on the micro-blogging platform.
Is it right to blame the victim?
Can the same logic or lack of it be extended to elevators, flights, trains, buses, subways etc. Blaming the victims is always an easy way out right?

We are scared about you!
You shouldn't go parliament when you see other members in there.
You shouldn't share a stage with other men.We are scared about you..

What do you have to say about Kirron Kher? Was she right in saying or do you feel she’s wrong?
