Virat Kohli was initially named in the Indian squad for the first two test matches against England but then he pulled out his name citing personal reasons and later on, he pulled out his name from the entire series.

Virat Kohli’s fans are hoping that the cricketer will be back in the IPL 2024 and perform well and help his team in winning their maiden trophy. However, during a show when the former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was asked whether Virat Kohli will be more eager to score runs in the IPL 2024 as he missed the cricketing action for so long, Little Master gave a cheeky response.

Instead of answering the question, Sunil Gavaskar asked whether Virat Kohli will be playing the IPL. He added that Virat is not playing currently because of a reason and he may not play in the tournament as well because of that reason.

Sunil Gavaskar is quite impressed with the performance of Dhruv Jurel in the last two test matches so he feels that Dhruv Jurel can be the superstar after the manner in which he has performed in the test series and he can also be promoted up the order in the IPL. In addition, Gavaskar pointed out that the Indian pacer Akash Deep can also get more exposure in the IPL and he can make up for the death over specialist which RCB missed last year.

Rishabh Pant, the Indian cricketer is set to return on the cricket field in the IPL 2024. Sunil Gavaskar talked in this regard as well and said that he is a big fan of Rishabh Pant and what matters the most for him is that Pant should be healthy like he was earlier so that he is able to entertain us like before but Gavaskar feels that Pant will need some time to get the same fluency in batting. Little Master is happy that Rishabh Pant has started training but he also opines that Pant may not be able to keep the wickets initially and he will need some time for it.

According to Sunil Gavaskar, the Delhi franchise should not rush in handing over the captaincy to Rishabh Pant despite the fact that Pant has the capability to lead effectively but this season, he should be given time to gain complete fitness and after that, he should be asked to lead the team.
