One of the most infamous fights that have taken place in all the seasons of IPL is the one which took place in the IPL 2023 between Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir.

It all happened in the match between Royal Challenger Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants which was played at the Ekana stadium, Lucknow. During the LSG innings, Virat Kohli was seen sledging Afghanistan cricketer Naveen-ul-Haq constantly. Things turned ugly when Naveen also reacted to it and then the umpire and LSG cricketer Amit Mishra had to intervene in order to control the situation.

After the match, both the cricketers once again had a brawl and then players from both the sides took them in different directions. After this, West Indies cricketer Kyle Mayers was seen having a heated discussion with Virat Kohli but he was separated soon by the LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir. However, it was then that Virat Kohli said something which was heard by Gautam Gambhir and it didn’t go well with him, he walked back towards Virat Kohli and then they both had an ugly spat.

The BCCI took this incident seriously and imposed a fine of 75% and 100% of match fees on Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli, respectively.

Recently after the second T20I between India and West Indies which was played at Providence stadium, Guyana, the West Indian cricketer Kyle Mayers opened up the same. When Kyle Mayers was asked about the incident, he said that it was great as sometimes a person has to get at the opposition. He added that it is always good to be aggressive as it shows the courage and willingness of a player to get his team over the line.

When Kyle Mayers is questioned that as a bowler, which player’s (Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli) wicket is more important for him, he chose Virat Kohli’s wicket as he is the best player across all the formats.

Currently, the Indian team is in West Indies and after playing the 2-match test series and 3-match ODI series, both the teams are clashing against each other in the 5-match T20I series. As of now, the hosts have taken a good lead of 2-0 by winning the first two T20I matches.

The hosts will certainly look forward to win the third T20I as it will result in a series win too for them.
