On a regular basis, we come across cases of abuse and eve teasing and one such case which has been immensely highlighted by social media and big news channels is that of Jasleen Kaur and Sarvjeet Singh!
Yes, you recalled it right! Jasleen Kaur is the very girl who alleged that Sarvjeet passed offensive comments at the time when she was walking down Tilak Nagar Street. The incident took place on 23rd August, 2015 and Kaur even filed a case against the guy.
At first, people believed whatever Jasleen said and it was Sarvjeet who had to face flak and wrath; however, as the case started to unfold, shocking facts came to sight which gave the clue of Sarvjeet being innocent, while Jasleen was the real culprit and punishable, taking into consideration the details eyewitnesses revealed.
Nevertheless, the damage was done, as a case was lodged against Sarvjeet by Jasleen and hence, the guy had to appear in the court to prove himself innocent.
Subsequent to a long wait of six months, he got the first date of hearing, i.e., March 4, 2016 in Mahila Court Tis Hazari. No satisfactory conclusion could be made in the first hearing and that’s why, Singh was asked to appear on June 7, 2016, the next date of hearing. Even more amazingly, he was given a new date by the court in view of the fact that the judge was on leave and to your utter surprise, the date was November 21, 2016, i.e., 5 months after the previous date.
On 21st November, Sarvjeet took to Facebook and posted,
“Finally aaj aai judge… got new date again….13 feb 2017… Dheere dheere sabr toot ra hain..”
When someone asked Sarvjeet about Jasleen’s appearance in the court, he said,
What’s even more disgusting is that the girl is on a visit to Cyprus, as per this comment, where Sarvjeet is not allowed to leave the city even!
It is pathetic that a guy whose crime is not even yet proved is suffering for so long and his wait is still not over, as he will be stuck in a legal case for 3 more months. Who knows justice will be done on the next hearing or he will again be given another date to appear on the court as a criminal, which he might not be!
There are more chances of this case to be a false one but because of this, the guy has to appear in the court over and over again while the girl is roaming freely and enjoying.. It’s high time feminist laws need to be changed!! Agree?
Don’t you think that 18 months are too long for this? It must have caused him mental agony and distress plus he got defamed while Jasleen who might actually be guilty is free to do just anything she wants to!
