Crimes against women are increasing by leaps and bounds and on a regular basis, we stumble upon such incidents which compel us to think whether women are safe anywhere on this Earth or not.
In a shocking incident, a woman was raped by her neighbor at gunpoint but when the accused tried to escape, he got his leg fractured.
According to reports, the accused named Nitin Kumar (25) forcefully entered the house of his neighbour just a little after of midnight on 31st January. A 25-yr woman was in the house only with her old mother-in-law and her husband was out. Availing himself of the situation, Nitin raped the woman at gunpoint.
The incident took place in a village of Bhopa, Muzaffarnagar, and as he was trying to escape, the victim shouted because of which people got to know that something wrong happened. In an attempt to save himself, Nitin jumped down from the terrace and got his leg fractured. The locals caught him and admitted him in the district hospital.
The rape survivor lodged a complaint against the accused on 1st January and here’s what Ajay Sahdev, SP (rural) stated,
“An FIR has been filed against Kumar under sections 376 (rape) and 452 (house trespass after preparation for hurt) after the woman was sent to hospital for her medical examination.”
As per sources, Nitin’s family took him to a private hospital from the district one before cops arrested him.
Well, the rapist got a punishment himself but this pain is quite little as compared to what the woman had to bear.
