Man Harassed By Wife, Lived In Bus Stop, Finally Got Divorce

A 50 years old man who was a victim of domestic violence finally gets a divorce.

This man had to spend nights at guest house or in the terrace of his building which he bought or even in the bus stop. He was denied to enter his own house by his wife. The lady is a doctor by profession who believed her husband was having an affair with a Chinese woman.

These residents of Mulund got married in 1986 and have a son aged 24.

In 2011 this man filed a petition for divorce. According to the petition, his wife lodged a complaint against him and police was at the door around 1pm on July 10, 2009.

Based on the allegations by the lady, this man had to face a lot of harassment in the police station. It was not the end. After this he was not allowed to enter his own house and had to spend nights in the bus stand.

The wife did not stop after this. She yelled at the police to throw him out of his house. She also threatened to go against the police if she did not receive any support from their side. The man was forced to leave his house with some certificates.

He was asked to wait till his wife changed up her mind. He waited with his son till her return. Though she let her child to enter, the man was kept back from stepping inside the house.

Not able to cope up with his wife he seeks permission from police to get his belongings and leave his house. He rented a room where he spent a year.

Dr Laxmi Rao, the principal judge held all this to be an act of extreme cruelty and the family court granted the divorce.
