Costume went wrong!

If you have seen the trailer, you can figure out that Pooja Hegde’s character i.e. Chaani is based on excavated statue of Mother Goddess. However, her costume shows that it is designed on the lines of Elizabeth Taylor of Cleaopatra. Yes, a historian says that the costume doesn’t match in any way. Information related to the statue can be found in the National Museums of India and the historian says that as per the museum the correct costume is “An elaborate headgear supported by a pair of bands and a brooch, tight-fitted short tunic with skirt part fastened with a broad waist-band using a medallion like clasp, and tight-fitted trousers, necklaces, ear-ornaments.”

Casting went wrong!

As per history, Indus Valley was the 1st civilization in the world and the existence of Mohenjo Daro was there even before India was invaded by Aryans. So, originally Dravidians were the original inhabitants and were known to have a stout and short body and dusky complexion. However, Hrithik Roshan, the lead, and Kabir Bedi, the antagonist didn’t fit well in the picture. Not to forget, even Pooja Hegde has a fair and lovely complexion.

Let us talk about the horses!

According to historical evidences, India was invaded by Aryans through Khyber Pass on horses. However, were there horses in pre-Aryan era? As per official information, inhabitants of Mohenjo Daro had elephants and cattle. Horses were no where in picture!

Original inhabitants didn’t name the town as Mohenjo Daro!

The meaning of Mohenjo Daro is ‘Village of Mounds’ as per archaeologists. However, this name was given by archaeologists and not by original inhabitants. So once again, how did the movie portray this name? Did it check the historical facts well?
