Shah Rukh Khan owned IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders played some incredible cricket yesterday in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore and crushed RCB by 81 runs. While everyone is talking about Shardul Thakur’s blistering knock of 68 runs (29 balls, 9 fours & 3 sixes) and Varun Chakravarthy’s bowling as he took 4 wickets in his 3.4 overs and gave away only 15 runs, there is one more young spinner who troubled the RCB batters a lot and played an important role in wrapping the Bangalore team.
We are talking about Suyash Sharma who made a dream debut in the IPL yesterday against RCB in the match which was played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, as the 19 years old spinner took 3 wickets of Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat and Karn Sharma and conceded 30 runs. Suyash Sharma is certainly a great find for KKR in the IPL 2023 but what makes him more special is the fact that he has no prior experience of playing professional cricket as he hasn’t played any List-A, First Class or a domestic T20 match before making his debut.
KKR bought the youngster at the base price of Rs. 20 lakhs after he played in the under-25 team of Delhi. In a recent interview, the young spinner revealed that he was a batter earlier but then he shifted to leg-spin as he desired to do something different. He also says that he enjoys the challenge of bowling against big names and he is not nervous while playing at the big platform of the IPL as he believes that he belongs here and he likes to play aggressive cricket, he doesn’t get defensive even after getting hit for a six.
Suyash Sharma is highly motivated and wants to give more match-winning performances for his team but it won’t be that easy as now the teams will come prepared for him. What do you think?
