Babul Supriyo, the singer turned politician, who is now the Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (Modi Government) has fallen in love.
Would you like to hear Supriyo’s love life? Well, for him, it was love at 1st sight and that too in the air, 35,000 ft above sea level! Yes, you heard it right! Babul Supriyo is all set to marry for the 2nd time and the lucky girl is a Delhi based air-hostess named Rachna Sharma, who works with Jet Airways.
Babul and Rachna have got engaged and now they are all set for tying the knot in the month of August. In an interview with leading daily, Babul says;
“For the last two years, my fate seems to have been circling in the air. Strange things are happening 30-35,000 ft above the sea level. Seems like someone is sitting up there and writing the script of my life,”
Babul Supriyo just had a few minutes of conversation with Rachna on the Kolkata-Mumbai flight and fell in love with her. Soon after talking to her, Babul asked her name and phone number.
This all happened in the year 2014 i.e. before Babul got his cabinet. Rachna and Babul’s wedding is on the 9th of August in New Delhi. Even before marriage, Supriyo has decided upon his anniversary celebration plans. He says that the 1st anniversary celebrations would be in Kolkata and 5th year celebrations would be in Mumbai.
Talking about what he liked about Rachna, Supriyo says it is ‘Complete simplicity’. He further adds that “In my complex life, this is the only X-factor,”
Babul Supriyo’s first wife is Rhea and he has a daughter (Sharmilee) from her.
