Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer “Laal Singh Chaddha” failed in pulling the audiences towards the theatres and the movie which took 4 years to complete was declared a flop.
The movie was directed by Advait Chandan and it also starred Mona Singh, Naga Chaitanya and Manav Vij in important roles.
Mona Singh played the character of Aamir Khan’s mother in the movie and she was praised a lot for her acting. In a recent interview, Mona stated that she got many quality roles after people watched her performance in “Laal Singh Chaddha”.
She said that the biggest satisfaction for an actor is when people start feeling connected with the character that they play on the screen. She added that the first time she got the validation was when she played the character of Jassi and after “Laal Singh Chaddha”, many people contacted her and told that during COVID-19, they lost their parents and they felt related to her as she played the role of mother. Mona said that it was really overwhelming for her and then again many people reached to her after she worked in “Made in Heaven”.
The actress further said that “Laal Singh Chaddha” didn’t do well at the box-office but whatever good work she has got after 2022 is because of that movie only. In her opinion, the talent of an actor never goes waste, it always gets noticed. Mona Singh added that the movie failed in theatres but when it got released on OTT, it was loved by the audiences and people saw her playing a different role because of which she got different opportunities and the makers are ready to explore various roles with her.
“Laal Singh Chaddha” was the Hindi remake of Oscar winning Hollywood movie “Forrest Gump” which starred Tom Hanks in the male lead.
