This Is How Much Loss “Padmaavat” Suffered Because Of Protests & No Screening In Few States

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Padmaavat” is going great at the box-office and it has already entered the 100 crore club. The leading actors are getting huge appreciation for their performances, especially Ranveer Singh who has completely nailed the character of Allauddin Khilji.

“Padmaavat” earned Rs. 5 crores from the paid previews. On the opening day, it collected Rs. 18 crores and the numbers improved considerably on the second day as the figures jumped to Rs. 32 crores. On the third day, the numbers went down a little with Rs. 27 crores but again rose on the fourth day with Rs. 30 crores.

There is no denying the fact that huge protests have a major impact on the movie’s earnings. What’s more, the film has not been screened in four states- Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and some parts of Goa. Because of the fear of violence, some people have also restricted themselves from watching the film.

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, “Padmaavat” has suffered a loss of about Rs. 35-37 crores due to protests, disturbances and other reasons.

This is quite a big loss but the manner in which people are showing love towards “Padmaavat”, this loss is definitely going to be compensated in long run.

In an interaction with BollywoodLife, Ranveer Singh said this regarding the movie and his character,

“I am on top of the world, over the moon. I am very happy for the entire team. This is not a normal movie that gets made every other day. It took a lot more time and effort from every department. Every member had put their best foot forward. I am extremely happy and relieved to see that these efforts are paying off. The role of Khilji took a lot out of me mentally, physically and emotionally. To see the kind of love I am getting makes very happy. I am thrilled and relieved. I took a leap of faith to play this character and the gamble has paid off.”

Did you watch the movie? If not, book your tickets soon.
