Her debut in the Hindi film industry was certainly something which every aspiring actress dreams of as she was casted opposite the King of Romance Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan directed “Om Shanti Om”. The movie was a blockbuster on the box-office and Deepika Padukone became the queen of many hearts instantly. However, it will be wrong to say that her journey in Bollywood was smooth. Recently she talked about her struggles and the criticism that she faced when she was just into her early twenties.

In an interview with a news portal, the Mastani of Bollywood said that she got her first break in Bollywood only after getting grinded in the modeling world for some years. She said that the movie released in 2007 and she got a lot of love and praises after that but there were some people who were very harsh on her. Deepika added that those people made fun of her accent and also said that she can’t act as she is a model. As per her, a lot of bad things were spoken about her and her skills, adding that it was very painful for her and it affected her more because she was just 21 yrs of age at that time.

The “Chennai Express” actress further adds that her parents have taught her good lessons of life because of which she focuses on living within her means and work hard not just to grow professionally but also for becoming a good human being. Deepika goes on to say that these teachings have helped her a lot in dealing with the problems of her personal and professional lives with humbleness and gratitude in her heart.
