As the news broke, voices from the cricketing world quickly turned into strong reactions, with players expressing pain, anger and frustration over the incident.

Among the first to react was the Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq who took to Facebook to share his thoughts. He compared the Pakistani military’s actions to Israel’s att@cks on Gaza, a statement that quickly went viral online.

“Hard to find any difference between Israel and Pakistani regime period,” wrote Naveen-ul-Haq, who has represented Afghanistan in both the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup.
