First time they clashed in 1992 Cricket World Cup at Adelaide on Mar 15, 1992. Overs were reduced due to rain. India batted first and Scored 180 runs in 30 overs & South Africa successfully chased the target in 29.1 overs with 6 wickets remaining.
Second time they met in 1999 World Cup at Hove, May 15, 1999. Again India Batted first and scored 253 runs in 50 overs. South Africa chased it successfully in 47.2 overs with 4 wickets remaining.
Third time they played against each other in 2011 World Cup at Nagpur, Mar 12, 2011. Once again India batted first and scored 296 Runs. South Africa chased it successfully in 49.4 overs with 3 wickets remaining.
